This post is exactly as described in the title, here are some oddly specific tropes and my feral thoughts about them. Enjoy.
1. ‘Letting go of a breath they didn’t know they were holding’
Seriously though, this line is *chefs kiss* no matter what kind of romance storyline or genre it is in. This has universal appeal. You cannot go wrong.
2. Character A is injured and Character B cares for them
Bonus points if they sleep all night next to them waiting for them to recover/ wake up.
3. When Character A does something badass and character B is turned on
A little too specific? Because it’s everywhere once you start to notice it and I fucking love it.
4. Never say they’re name/ name is said like a prayer
Bonus points if its during a spicy scene and it’s what makes it… *ahem* finish
5. Jaw clenches/ nostril flaring/ curls fist to hide anger
Preferably when our female MC is being insulted and/ or they are trying to hide their feelings towards the MC.
6. Enhanced sense of smell
I might be exposing myself for the type of fiction I tend to enjoy… but give me a fae/shifter/vampire/werewolf etc who can smell when your injured or in a… certain mood, any day.
7. Sneaky mastermind plan which they told no one and gets revealed at the last second, much to everyone’s surprise and rage but they’re also a little impressed

8. Notices small things about another character and does thoughtful things they would appreciate in response
My love languages are gift giving and acts of service, I’m a little bitch for these kind of things, doesn’t even need to be romantic.
9. Character A gets dressed all fancy for some reason and character B is rendered speechless
Bonus points for if they then find themselves getting all jealous when people talk to the dressed up character and then they’re all confused and hot and bothered.
10. Mind to mind communication
Once again showing my hand a little bit but… I likes what I likes.
