My 44th read of 2023 was Ruthless Villains by Marion Blackwood but I only just finished it towards the end of Christmas break.

A summary attempt

The way of life of the villains is under threat, so they decide to do something completely unprecedented: work together. They nominate two of their number to go into the city and abduct the power binder who plans to take down all the villains. The problem is, Audrey and Callan are mortal enemies who will not trust the other, even with the truce for the good of the mission. Audrey quickly discovers that she has a way to rattle Callan without breaking their truce, by using his attraction to her against him. Soon, their power struggle becomes about more than just power…

My thoughts

Ummmmmmm so this just wasn’t my cup of tea… the start was kind of slow, the writing is a bit Wattpad-y, it’s basically just fucking with some plot. The spicey scenes are fine, it does play around with kink stuff but there wasn’t a lot of passion in them. I did like the ending but overall I don’t think I’ll be reading the rest of the series, they are good little spicy short reads though, so might be worth checking them out and deciding for yourself as they are on kindle unlimited.
