I’m launching something new for the blog, so here is me officially announcing it!
As this blog grows and I’m starting to see hits more and more for books by smaller authors, or for indie books I reviewed with my podcast. These posts don’t get a ton of traffic but they do see a steady trickle over time.
I thought I would use this blog to help highlight authors publishing with smaller imprints or indie authors. I originally wanted to do this by reading ARC books, which I started from the beginning of this year but this has actually proven really difficult around work/ my current reading slump.
So, I thought, how else could I help uplift those kind of authors (who I hope to join one day, in some capacity!), whilst not being able to commit to reading their books, and this is what I came up with:
An Indie author/ debut/ small author spotlight, which will be a regular post (hopefully), with its’ own category that you can now see in the menu. The latest post will be added to the ‘featured’ block on my home page too.
There is a form on the Indie Author Spotlight page, I will copy what is sent to me via the form as it’s written, and that author will then get an entire post dedicated to them with the information on the form laid out all pretty. If I do come to read their book later, I will add my review under it too.
I can’t promise this will pay off for you as an Indie author but the search engine God’s seem to be giving my posts some preference and I want to use that to help authors, who maybe don’t have their own website, or are looking for new avenues to market their book and at the very least it will help get extra hits/ keywords for search engines involving your name and work!
