Life check in

Firstly, I can’t believe I am doing the 3/4 check-in, this is insanity and time isn’t real!

Secondly… my feelings about life now are very mixed, I’m loving having my own place and living with my partner but I think it’s giving my brain too much space to think and be existential! That turning thirty early mid-life crisis has found me very late.

Without getting too detailed to strangers on the internet, I feel a little… unfulfilled? I guess? I feel like I work, I come home, I eat, I shower, I get like maybe 1 hour to do something that actually gives me joy, and then I have to get ready to do it all over again. Then I get two days in which I have to cram in all the things before the whole cycle starts again. I don’t think humans are designed to live this way, I don’t think it’s good for us. It’s certainly not good for me.

Writing check in

I dunno, due to the rant above, I still don’t feel like I have the time, or at least I had every intention of sitting down to write, I have ideas bubbling away in my head but three months passed without me doing a damn thing. I’m just real tired of feeling like there is never enough time.

Reading check in

Overall, I’ve read 56 books, 32 book-books and 24 audio books. So, not as impressive as last year but I definitely had a lot more big things going on this year. Plus, one less sunny holiday than I usually take, so that accounts for being at least seven books behind!

I’ve gotten into some bad habits of doing mind-less scrolling at times when I would usually be reading, and on my recent holiday it was really refreshing not doing that, so I’m going to try to keep it up.

So there you go, not as positive as my last wrap-up but honestly, I always get a little but like this as the weather turns and it gets darker in the evenings. I am not a winter girly!
