My 16th book of the year was ‘That Time I Got Drunk and Yeeted a Love Potion at a Werewolf’ by Kimberley Lemming the second book in the Mead and Mishaps series.
Read my review of book 1 here and book 3 here and the novellas here.
A brief summary
Brie isn’t one for commitment, she’d have been happy with her farm, cheese and her monster smut books but now demons have been released from the country they were trapped in and a bunch of them have come to Boohail with her best friend Cinnamon, who happened to marry one of them. At a festival one of Brie’s wannabe suitors from the town tries to dose her with a love potion but lucky for her, she figured out it was suspicious, chucking it him seemed liked a good idea until he ducks and the potion hits and very attractive werewolf instead. He’s convinced she’s his fated mate but Brie is sure it’s just the love potion and if that wasn’t enough to deal with, girls are going missing and she’s being hunted by the same strange demon that might have taken them. Brie finds herself falling for the guy straight out of her alpha werewolf romance books but will he love her back once the potion wears off? And will the figure out what is hunting women in the village?
What did I think?
I love this series! It’s hilarious and so much fun, it’s fantasy romance that doesn’t take itself too seriously, there’s plenty of interesting plot and characters as well as some fantastic spicy moments. This book had an excellent pace and really enjoyed Brie as a character. I will definitely keep reading this series.
