My 30th book of the year was Two Necromancers, a Dwarf Kingdom, and a Sky City by L.G Estrella, the 4th book in the Un-conventional heroes series.
You can read my review of books 1 & 2 here and book 3 here.
A summary attempt
Timmy the necromancer continues his work with the council of Everton to earn a pardon, so he doesn’t become another necromancer statistic. This time him and his unusual gang is on a mission to rescue a princes from a crime lord, after which he is swiftly dispatched to help fight a goblin army and save the dwarves. Now their little group consists of a pyromaniac Elf and her adopted dragon son, his shadow wielding, pink loving apprentice, Old man, an ancient vampire and, of course, Gerald the Bureaucrat.
My review
I really do love this series, it’s action packed, loads of found family goodness and a lot of tongue-in-cheek humour. This series is pretty quickly becoming a comfort series for me; it’s low stakes fantasy, funny but with lots of magic and battle scenes. I’m hoping in the next book we’ll learn more about Old man’s mysterious past and that Timmy and the councillor keep getting closer! I’ve listened to all of these as audio books and I can recommend them on audible.
