Maya’s Diary: the lost journal – Scar trilogy – Emnet Efrem
Maya is a girl that goes to a boarding school in the 2100s, where the aftermath of CISPER and eugenics had shaped the world, but were now left in the history books. she meets a boy and loses friends, but the real problems are just under the surface, and much much bigger than she could have imagined. Meeting this boy would only be the start of a history defining journey.

An extract from
My dress had arrived yesterday night in a pristine white box with silver embossed letters next to an ornate ribbon flower on the lid. It was a white menen dress with a bodice so tight I needed to be strapped into it. I kept him waiting for about ten minutes before the elevator opened into the common room. He was looking at me like I was something he had never seen before.
He just sort of stood there for a moment, while absentmindedly dropping his arm to reveal a nice pastel bouquet of peonies from behind his back. “Sorry I’m late.” I said walking towards him. His hair was swept back in a bun which made him look imperial. I tried very hard not to stare at him too long. It was not easy. He was wearing a grey suit, which was unlike him. I would have thought he would have gone for a bolder color. I told him the flowers were pretty, and that seemed to wake him up. He shook his head and smiled when gave them to me. He might have looked embarrassed, but I can’t be sure.
