I am really on a roll with the books I have read this year, so here we are with number 63, My Roommate is a Vampire by Jenna Levine. This was another fun holiday read!
A sort of summary
Cassie is a starving artist about to be evicted from another apartment, so when she finds a Craigslist ad for a ridiculously cheap room in a really nice area of the city, she’s not really in the position to turn it down. Sure, the guy speaks like he escaped a 18th century novel and works a weird shift pattern that means she’ll never see him in the day time but she has only two weeks until she’s homeless, so Cassie decides she can handle a little weirdness. It also helps that he’s really hot, quite charming and enjoys Cassie’s art. When she arrives at his place, there’s weird old art everywhere, no pots and pans for cooking and her new roommate is constantly puzzled by everyday slang and modern technology.
My thoughts
This is a fun, cute little book! There’s lots of silly, laugh out loud moments, the romance is great and they don’t draw out the whole ‘is he a vampire’ thing too long. It has a little spicy scene but not too… detailed? This was a perfect holiday read to be honest.
