My 17th read of this year was ‘That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Human’ by Kimberley Lemming, the third book in the Mead and Mishaps series.
Read my reviews of book one here, book two here and the novellas here.
An attempt at summarising
Dante the storm dragon wants to find his mate, he’s sick of being surrounded by happy couples, so he sets out in search of one but not before dropping by an old family friend’s place…
Cherry’s ma used to tell her stories about princesses trapped in castles, it never seemed like a lot of fun to her and it turns out she was right. Five years ago a dragon kidnapped her and she’s been trapped in his tower ever since. When another dragon drops by to talk to her captor, Cherry seizes her chance and drugs him at the first opportunity so she can convince him to help her escape. Unlucky for her, this dragon is a massive lightweight, but lucky(ish) for her, he seems to think she is his mate, so even off his tits he whisks her away… to yet another castle in the middle of nowhere. Can Cherry escape him? And after the incident in the hot baths, does she even want to…?
My thoughts
I’ve said it before in my previous reviews that I love this series, this one was just as funny, especially with the grumpy as fuck dragon absolutely fawning over the fairly indifferent (in the beginning) Cherry, trying to give her treasure and buying her clothes and food. I found it frustrating how often she nearly reveals her connection to our MC’s in book’s one and two but I guess that’s kind of the point of the plot, I was just impatient!
