Caer’s life is falling apart.
A mere mortal in the land of the Fodla fae, Caer has become disillusioned from the life she leads in the wake of her husband taking a new second wife. Now severely ill, her husband’s responsibilities fall on her to provide for their growing family.
Desperate to save him from a cruel premature death, Caer turns to the Gods of her realm for a cure.
Ordered to flee from Fodla under the God’s direction and shipwrecked in a foreign realm, Caer becomes an outsider to the natives of the ancient and mystical region, the Nords of the Midgard Isle.
Forced to follow their customs or die, Caer is pushed into an arranged marriage and the arms of the striking Nordic warrior Erik, son of the sea God.
Caer cannot trust anyone in this new land but Erik, the only one willing to help her gather the ingredients for the cure her husband needs.
